I help institutions and organizations turn strategy into measurable action. Drawing on 25 years in marketing, communications, and organizational planning, I guide leadership teams to clarify their story, align operations, and build systems that strengthen reputation, trust, and organizational values.
With more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of strategy, communications, and organizational planning, I help mission-driven institutions clarify their story, align systems, and connect authentically with the communities they serve. My career spans healthcare, higher education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors in both the United States and Canada — offering a broad perspective on how complex organizations build trust and translate strategy into results.
Before founding E. Shekhman Consulting, I spent over a decade in leadership roles at Hartford HealthCare, developing strategies that aligned business growth with storytelling and reputation management. My work included strategic planning, brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational communications — translating institutional goals into clear narratives that advanced both mission and market strength. I’ve also led teams in marketing and corporate environments to design campaigns, manage change, and deliver measurable outcomes. Today, I apply that same focus on clarity, collaboration, and execution to higher education, healthcare, and philanthropic organizations — guiding them through strategy development, organizational alignment, and cross-functional implementation.
My expertise lies in identifying gaps between vision and implementation, creating frameworks for inclusive engagement, and designing communication systems that enhance transparency, decision-making, and stakeholder confidence.
Beyond consulting, I am deeply involved in Jewish communal leadership and advocacy — work that reinforces my commitment to inclusion, civic responsibility, and organizational resilience. I serve on several boards and councils focused on education, philanthropy, healthcare, and Jewish life, including:
• Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford (Chair of Long-Range Planning and past Women’s Philanthropy Chair)
• Jewish Federations of North America (National Women’s Philanthropy Board)
• AIPAC (Connecticut Political Network Co-Chair)
• American Jewish Medical Association (Vice President, Chapter Development)
• GW Hillel (Board Member)
• Voices of Hope (Board Member)
• GW Program on Extremism (Strategic Advisor)
This work informs my consulting perspective — blending strategic insight with an understanding of how communities build belonging, navigate complexity, and sustain engagement.
I hold an MBA in Healthcare Management from The George Washington University and an Honours B.A. in Mass Communications & Semiotics from the University of Toronto — academic foundations that inform my approach to strategy, narrative, and organizational communication across sectors.
